Calls, Texts, Emails… Stay Safe from Spam & Phishing

If you are ever unsure if you are talking to a Valley View employee, please let the individual know that you will call back on the clinic phone number and get their name and department. If they are an employee, staff will be able to find them in our system and transfer you back to them to complete the transaction.

Do not use the phone number they provide. Go to the clinic’s webpage under Locations and call the listed phone number, or if it is related to billing, call our billing office at (360) 330-9557.

Calls: Valley View does call patients to request payment information, insurance coverage information, or to confirm other information regarding patient care. If you prefer we are also happy for you to pay through your patient portal. For our pharmacy, you can save your card on file securely with our pharmacy system, but this feature is not available for our other service lines.

Texts: Valley View only texts patients with regard to appointment reminders and with respect to patient satisfaction. We will never text you about care or payment information.

Emails: Valley View only sends emails to patients for patient satisfaction surveys, appointment reminders, and notices that you have a patient portal message (because email is typically unsecure). If you email our administration office, we may ask for a phone number to call.

If you believe something doesn’t seem right, here are some things you can do to stop spam/phishing calls:

  • Block the number
    • You can block the number on your phone. You can also use a phone company or app’s call-blocking service, which can detect if a call is likely to be fraudulent.
  • Sign up for the Do Not Call Registry
    • You can sign up for the Do Not Call Registry by calling 1-888-382-1222 or visiting www.donotcall.gov. Once your number is on the registry, you should not receive any recorded or live sales calls.
  • Don’t answer spam calls
    • You should never answer a spam call, even if you’re not sure if it’s spam. Many spam calls are designed to charge you high fees or get you on the phone with a fraudster.
  • Don’t use “scammer phone number lookup” services
    • Instead, you can search for the phone number on a search engine like Google or Edge.
